LAXMANSINHA, the 128th in the Solar line, from Shri Ramchandra, ascended the
throne in V.S.1331 (H.675). It is needless to say that the times of Laxmansinha
were critical and full of sudden turns of fortune for the Rajput Kings. Emperor
Allaudin Khilji attacked Chittor or twice in a short space of time, and
eventually reduced the fort, which had been kept free from the unholy touch of
the Muhammedans. During these sieges, Laxmansinha lost eleven of his sons one
after the other. Ajaysinha, who was the pet of his father, was sent with a
select retinue, outside the fort, and was asked by his father to live in the
Western province of Kilawada.
